remember that time DC thought that going back to being the cliche gotham vigilante bat-whatever was good for babs?
like, they seriously thought that oracle as a representation of the superhero community evolving and instead of being 333423 isolated heros you get 333423 heros organized and they can actually get a lot more shit done (they had organizations and teams but they didnt were coordinated by a central person that organized all of them) was less interesting that fcking batgirl again
I’m serious oracle is a hero who doesnt need to be involved in physical fights to show who is stronger and braver and more heroic but instead she just serves as a little help to several other people and helps to coordinate other superhero teams and its probably much more effective than going every night to patrol gotham (like babs as batgirl does) it was some kind of “fuck you” to the over-the-top sense of masculinity present in the batman mythos that are worshipped by nerds because he is such a badass because he knows how to beat people
I’m glad DC stopped being such a sexist, ableist and stupid company and learned that babs as oracle will alwas be more interesting than babs as batgirls and you can tell stories way more original with oracle than with babs as batgirl
